The TARMAC AEROSAVE site
The site
Less than one hour and half away from Toulouse, TARMAC AEROSAVE is located on the Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénée airport zone, with a 3 000 metre runway that can receive any type of aircraft, in the heart of the Aerospace Valley world competitiveness cluster.
TARMAC AEROSAVE is installed on a 30 hectares zone, with extension possibilities, and is ICPE classified (Classified Installation for Protection of Environnement), authorising aircraft maintenance and dismantling activities, as well as waste processing.
TARMAC AEROSAVE has installations commensurate with its ambitions: an 8 000 square meter hangar, that can hold any type of aircraft, up to a Boeing B747 or an Airbus A380. Its outdoor parking can hold 20 aircraft and can be easily extended. This important storage base enables the company to either dismantle aircraft or maintain them into flight condition for a new life of flying.
Site features:
Outdoor areas:
- Six leakproof storage areas able to receive up to 20 aircraft,
- A leakproof defueling area (2 000m²),
- A leakproof dismantling area (5 000m²),
- A sorting area with material cells (4 000m²) and a canopy for sensitive material storage (500m²),
- Liquid flow process for the parking, dismantling and sorting areas, with visual and audio alarm for sewage,
- Two water and fluid flow processes for the defueling area towards a hydrocarbon separator or a containment tank in case of a toxic leak,
- Taxiways and a runway access able to receive up to an Airbus A380-900,
- A 65 meter wide access gate to the runway (in compliance with ICAO airport standards) , enabling access to the site for the largest aircraft,
- A weighing bridge and a portal radiation monitor, to manage vehicle entry / exit.
A hangar dedicated to storage and maintenance:
- Boasting 8 000m², it can receive all types of aircraft, such as the A380-900.
- The hangar is fully equipped with all the equipments required for aircraft maintenance operations.
